General Questions

What is a text message (SMS)?

SMS stands for Short Message Service, and is synonymous with text messaging, Text, TXT, etc. An SMS (text message) is a short message, which can be sent to and from a mobile phone.

What is the advantage of using text messaging?

Text messages are a brief, effective, inexpensive means of communication. Most people carry their cellular phones with them wherever they go enabling you to reach out to your customers anywhere and at anytime and enabling your customers to communicate with you.

What are the rules for sending text mesages?

Absolutely!  We can set up a demo of the platform and or a demo of a few SMS messages with your companies info as  examples.

Is setting up a texting program going to be a lot of work?

No. Our program is designed to make it as easy as possible to get your account, campaigns and everything else set up for you. 

We don’t just give you an account and make you figure it out or refer you to some online documentation. 

When we say we make it easy, we mean it. 

Texting Numbers

What is a Short Code?

A Short Code is a 5 or 6 digit number, to which text messages can be sent to and from a mobile phone.

What is a 10DLC Code?

A 10DLC code is a 10 digit phone number that has been enabled for text messaging. You can have your existing business line text enabled or Mission Mobile can order one for you.

What is a Toll-Free texting number?

A toll-free texting number is a toll-free number that has been enabled to send and receive text messages.   You can have your existing business line text enabled or Mission Mobile can order one for you.

What are the differences between the texting numbers?

The main differences are the monthly fees, commitment, paperwork necessary to get started and the time to get the number active.  Short codes tend to cost the most in terms of monthly fees, time to set up and paperwork.  For this reason we generally recommend using 10DLC or Toll-Free texting numbers.

Do the carriers charge the customers for received messages?

Every carrier offers different text messaging packages.  Most people have unlimited messages with their plans or plans with a large amount of messages so there are no additional charges.
